Polyester
KTS adds value to customers’ operations by licensing a full range of leading polymerization technologies. Starting with Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA), the preferred raw material for polyester production, the aerial oxidation of paraxylene then produces PTA. PTA is reacted with mono ethylene glycol (MEG) to produce a polyester polymer, poly ethylene terephthalate (PET).
KTS licenses polymerization technology, in collaboration with our engineering partner Chemtex Global, for the manufacture of PET polymer; up to 700 kilo tpa single stream for bottle resin and 390 kilo tpa single stream for polyester filament.

We provide leading technology for the manufacture of PTA at a range of scales, up to 1.6 million tons per annum single stream and 3.2 million tons per annum twin stream to meet your needs.
Building on over 50 years of polyester expertise, PolyReVolve™ is the latest innovation from the proven partnership between KTS and Chemtex. Offered as a single turnkey package, it combines KTS’s proprietary reactor technology in a partial glycolysis process with Chemtex’s expertise in large-scale process deployment.
