We are pleased to announce that SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. (SASA) successfully started up its new 1.75 million tonnes per annum Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) Plant utilizing KTS’s latest P8++ PTA Technology in Adana, Türkiye, marking a significant milestone for KTS in PTA technology licensing in the greater European region.
This facility represents the largest single-stream PTA unit ever licensed by KTS. Built on the demonstrated performance of KTS’s P8 technology platform, the variable cost, capital productivity and environmental performance of this PTA plant is expected to set new benchmarks within the industry.
Dr Mustafa Kemal Oz, Executive Board Member & General Manager at SASA said: “Our PTA facility has started production. I hope it will be beneficial to our homeland, our state, and our nation.
“We went through incredibly difficult situations such as pandemics, earthquakes, wars, logistic problems, equipment problems, labor problems, and we succeeded. We never gave up, we always struggled, we worked hard. Most importantly, we became a very good team. This was an incredible gain for us.
“We became the first polyester facility in Turkey to start producing its own raw materials. We will continue to work on our new investments. And, I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our team and employees.”
