- Flint Hills Resources (FHR) required improvement in distribution of air and fuel gas mixtures

- Pilot unit built in Wilton, UK for various catalyst evaluations ahead of regular 4 year turnarounds
- Assessment of next generation catalyst from suppliers
- Extensive testing of new catalyst showed improved performance giving confidence to implement

ADN Technology Deployment ‘ATLAS’
Problem
- Improved catalyst formulation developed by INVISTA , required technology transfer and implementation collaboration with JV partner (Solvay) on Butachimie site
Solution
- KTS developed the technology transfer package (FEL 2) for this complex retrofit including
- Process prowsheet, heat & mass balance, materials of construction, Equipment development wit vendors, Basis of safety & Equipment data sheets ( >100 new, 150 modified & 150 process condition changes)
- Worked in collaboration with nominated engineering contractor to create class 4 and class 3 capital cost estimates
Successful implementation with KTS providing support through FEL 3, detail design, construction & commissioning.

- INVISTA identified the opportunity to license Nylon 6,6 technology in China but lacked capability to establish a licensing business & execute contracts
